Distress Centre Durham helps people in distress to cope, by providing emotional support, crisis/suicide management and community education.  They offer support from specially trained volunteers who are non-judgmental, empathic and caring. Their 24/7 telephone helpline is always available, and text or online support is also available from 2pm to 2am (see website for details).

In addition to their  telephone and online/text support, Distress Centre Durham has ‘call-out’ services that provide ongoing, telephone support for those who require it, as well as a resource library and Adolescent Suicide Awareness workshops, which they run in schools.
